This book describes the way in which the post-war Greek cinema depicted the surrounding space. Through a brief exploration of typical films the book examines the special characteristics of Greek filmakers generally in relation to their American and European counterparts as regards the use of urban and natural landscapes. At the same time it emphasizes on each creator's personal perception as well as the thematologies and aesthetic preferences. Beyond the fact that they convey the sensation emitted by the specific shots, the photographs, placed side-by-side, tell their own version of the subject, underlining similarities, connections and references.
