The information provided on the various monuments is relatively brief but, together with the wealth of photographs and the bibliography in the texts, is sufficient for the casual visitor, who will learn about the organization of the city and the monuments among which St Paul walked, baptized Lydia, the first Christian in Europe, in the nearby river Gangitis, and was imprisoned in the city gaol together with his followers.
